Smile, Eat And Speak With
Confidence Again
At Homerton Dental Care we understand that even with the best possible care, teeth can be lost to disease or injury.
At our clinic, we offer life-like, comfortable, high-quality dentures so that you can continue to smile, eat and speak with confidence following tooth loss.
Why Choose Dentures?
Dentures are an incredibly helpful device designed to help you maintain the function and aesthetic of your smile. By filling in the gaps left by missing teeth you can continue to speak well, and eat confidently.
Dentures can be full or partial, depending on your needs. Partial dentures are important when it comes to slowing any remaining natural teeth from shifting.
For many patients, the impact of tooth loss on the facial structure is the most difficult consequence of tooth loss. When we lose teeth, the bone that held the teeth in place is absorbed, causing the face to sag, hollow and age.
When you have dentures, the structure of your face is maintained when you wear them. Dentures also give you back your smile, an expression nobody should have to hide because of missing teeth.

Benefits Of Dentures:
Denture Types At Homerton Dental Care
There are two key types of denture material used in modern dentistry; acrylic and cobalt-chromium.
Acrylic Dentures
Acrylic (plastic) dentures fit really easily into the mouth, and are easily altered. This means they can be very cost-effective if you require regular denture alterations as your mouth shape changes.
Acrylic dentures have a lot of advantages including:
- Cost-effective
- Affordable
- Easy-to-adjust
- Natural-looking
- Can be used for full or partial dentures
- Custom-fit to your requirements
Cobalt-Chromium Dentures
Cobalt-Chromium dentures have a metal framework that attaches to the natural teeth and on that framework we attach your new artificial teeth.
Cobalt-chromium dentures have a number of advantages including:
- Less gum and mouth coverage compared to other denture types
- Lighter and thinner than plastic
- Comfortable
- More stability from the metal framework
- Hygienic
- Easier to adapt to than plastic dentures
At Homerton Dental Care we can create exceptional cobalt-chromium dentures for you that enable you to speak, eat and smile with complete confidence!
The Denture Process
Often we can take an impression of a tooth that is due to be extracted before it is removed. That enables us to make the dentures in advance, ensuring a seamless switch and no time with visible missing teeth.
Sometimes we will create a temporary denture to be used whilst the gums heal from your extraction. A permanent denture will then be made once an accurate moulding of the healed gum can be taken.
When we create permanent dentures it can take a period of weeks to months for them to be ready depending on the type you are having made. Our prosthodontics team will ensure you are informed and comfortable throughout the entire process so that you always feel completely in control of your treatment plan.
